Cost of Living

 

On average, students in Germany spend around 850 € per month on living costs. The largest expense is rent. Prices for accommodation differ significantly between some cities or areas in Germany. In general, renting a flat in Brühl will be cheaper than looking for accommodation in Cologne.

Most students live in a shared flat (WG).

Of course, the amount of money you need also depends on your individual lifestyle.

The table shows the average cost of living in Germany per month:

tuition fees costsEU|FH students can buy a public transport ticket for approx. 185 € per semester that allows you to travel in the area of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The ticket is either valid from April to September or from October to March.
